Raro, tratándose de Baviera (o Bavaria), la patria chica del movimiento nazi. Imagino que las escenas del campo de concentración corresponden a Dachau, el primero inaugurado por la canalla nazi en 1933, a sólo 12 km de Munich (cuyos habitantes, desde luego, "no sabían nada"...).

My grandpa used to tell me the story of this, the explosion of the torpedo room at 5:59. I had heard the story a few times when young, I would always press him for his stories. He served with 4th in all their landings and was wounded twice on Iwo Jima. He is gone now but never forgotten. I wish we had access to these films when he was alive. I watch knowing he is one of the Marines assaulting the island. Miss the hell out of the man. Semper Fi gramps!

You do/have done a great job by uploading these trial films. A disadvantage is that the films are not in chronological order and that the file jumps to the beginning when one has watched one.

My dad was a pilot in the 47th pursuit squadron, stationed on Iwo Jima from about March 1945 through the end of the war. I enjoyed watching planes from his unit taking off. His unit are the planes with the triangle on the tail. I wish I knew which plane my dad flew. I have his flight records, but they don’t indicate which specific aircraft he flew.

40 years ago this year, cg boot camp 1985. I spent two years in the army as a sapper prior to joining the cg. Coast guard boot camp was a joke after going thru army basic and AIT in fort Leonard wood misery. And two years in the infantry in benning. I spent 8 years as a cook, they sent me all over the U S. Had fun, got out as an E6. 4 different cutters and three shore stations. Lots of experience and good times. Semper paratus.

Ironically when this was going on the Marine Corps was fighting on Iwo Jima half a world away

I took my training at Fort Bliss as fire control crew with the Hawk missile in 1963 and later served in Vietnam with 7th missile Battalion 2nd. Artillery,this brings back good and bad memories.

The M42 Duster and M55 Quad 50 were assigned to the U.S. Army, First Battalion, 44th Artillery, 108th Artillery Group. When first deployed to Vietnam, the unit was assigned for operational purposes to the 1st Marine Division. The Quad unit was probably G65, who also operated under 1/44 control. In 1968 the "Air Defense Artillery" branch was added to the Army and all Duster, Quad 50 and Searchlight units were placed in that branch. 1/44 then was placed under the 24th Corp umbrella.

North Koreans killed US POWs because they saw them as invaders, Chinese volunteers tried to keep as many alive as possible to use in negotiations with the UN and South Korea, they also allowed them to stay in Korea, defect to China or return to the US. Facts! do your research if you think it's BS.

General James Gavin is the father of the 82nd Airborne Division continues to work hard in protecting our soldiers everywhere. One of my uncles was in this outfit in the mid 1950s. Later on, a cousin of mine was a member as well. How I wish that some of our young people today would decide to become more responsible and continue to grow stronger in order to help themselves and their communities also. It does not take being a member of any military organization but just helping out in your own community will be something that will allow you and yours to flourish in a positive way.
